Turn Up That Dial! Memphis Begins Performances in Boston

December 11th, 2012 | By Broadway.com Staff

The national tour of the Tony-winning musical Memphis begins performances on December 11 in Boston. The show will play the Citi Emerson Colonial Theatre through December 23.

Set in the turbulent south in the 1950s, Memphis is the rollicking story of Huey Calhoun, a white radio DJ whose love of good music transcends race lines and airwaves. Thanks in part to his passionate persistence, "race" music explodes throughout mainstream America. But when Huey falls for a beautiful black singer he has set on the path to stardom, whether the world is really ready for this music, and their love, is put to the test.

The stars of Memphis include Bryan Fenkart as Huey, Felicia Boswell as Felicia, Horace V. Rogers as Delray, Will Mann as Bobby and Rhett George as Gator. Broadway helmer Christopher Ashley directs the production.

Let Memphis live in you and get your tickets today.
